Since the problem of labor force reproduction may become even more acute in the future, a more detailed analysis of this topic is relevant. The purpose of this work was to analyze the problem of labor market development in the context of the demographic crisis, to study the emergence of new scientific problems in this regard, to consider the emerging patterns and to assess their impact on the current state of the labor market.

Special attention in the research methodology was paid not only to the special analysis of the problems of domestic labor market functioning, but also to the experience of developed countries. On the basis of the conducted research, a comprehensive approach to the creation of a holistic mechanism of state regulation of demographic development in terms of providing the labor market with the necessary workforce has been proposed. As a result of the analysis the conclusions are made that the labor market problem should be developed in two aspects: first, from the point of view of providing the labor market with the necessary labor force and, second, from the point of view of its rational placement. It is the demographic factor that should underlie the state policy in the labor market and determine approaches in the field of dynamics (increase or decrease) of jobs, and the established demographic trends in the field of formation of labor resources should dictate the employment policy.
